that one time I was the cool mom.

Yesterday was Carter’s birthday celebration at school.  This means, I got to bring pictures of him in and talk about all his shenanigans over the last 8 years.  Kidding, kind of.  But seriously, it’s so easy to amuse a group of second graders.  And Carter’s got a lot of interesting stories.  That’s the thing about my Carter.  He’s given me a real run for my mom money, but he is one of the most interesting (and I mean that in the best possible way) kids I have ever met.   Also I had Ava with me, and those baby cheeks captivate any audience.  Anyways, when it’s your star student birthday celebration day you “get” to bring a treat in, and Carter, because he’s awesome, chose donuts.  Donuts!  We don’t need no stinkin’ cupcakes.  Anyways, I went to Macey’s because the bakery there is legit, and brought 3 dozen donuts into his class, where I immediately became the coolest mom everrrrr.(according to Carter and his classmates.) Day made.

I’m now the coolest mom ever.  3 dozen donuts.  That’s all it took.

Small price.

Also,  this is the most amazing silk blouse on the planet.   If you don’t have a white silk blouse (you should, world’s best closet staple) this is the one you want to buy.  And it’s from Everlane, that means the price is super reasonable and the quality is legit.  I love it when companies actually do what they say they’ll do.

  2. Isn’t it the best when you be cool for a while. My nieces think I’m the coolest thing ever – for now. We’ll see how I fare when they become teens…

I will admit it. I’m scared of silk. It seems so easy to ruin it and then I’m going to be sad. Maybe one day I’ll be braver

The Everlane one, hands down. The cost is similar, but the quality of Everlane’s is much much better. ;-)

No doubt you’re the coolest mom! I wish I was as cool as you. Seriously. :) Miss you a ton! I was thinking about you when we were doing caramel apples and sugar cookies with the kids the other night, wishing you and your adorable family were with us. I loved our little family get-togethers. Hope you’re having a fabulous Fall! Let’s talk soon!

Anna, I use a Hana hair dryer, which is great and very fast even with my very thick hair. My super secret though is morroccan oil/hair serum. Changed my life…
