Did anybody watch that Grammy’s tribute to the Beatles last night?  Ba-nanas.  I mean, my jaw dropped when Alicia Keys sang “Let it be,”  I was weeping like a child during the cover of  “Here comes the Sun,” and down right giddy when Sir Paul and Ringo started singing together, right there on television, like it was no big deal.  I went to a Paul McCartney concert around 12 years ago now, with my sisters and my mom and dad and it was one of the best, funnest nights of my life.  My dad’s probably the world’s biggest Beatles fan (I know everybody says that, but I really think he is) and their music defines my childhood about as much as if I had grown up in their era.  Well, maybe not quite, but close.  Anyways, those melodies are filled with joy and nostalgia, and listening to them played by some of my favorite current artists was such a treat.  Don’t you just love what the human race is able to create?  I’m listening to this music last night that makes me feel so many things, and thinking to myself, “some person just thought this up, it just sprung up out of them.”  That’s a miracle.  The human creative process is a miracle.

Speaking of which, this skirt is one of my newest creations, and I’m not going to make any kind of comparison with it to the Beatles because that would be blasphemy, but it is made with a designer lace overlay, and it’s navy (my fave) and it’s all tied up with a bow in the back, and I sure do like it a lot.  For some reason it makes me feel like Audrey Hepburn.

The end.

ps. I adore this video about being creative.  It’s a nice thought for a Monday don’t you think?

In LOVE with that skirt. Okay, so I don’t have a vast Beatles music knowledge because my dad hated the Beatles. Blasphemy, I know. My aunts and uncles “played out” the Beatles when my dad was a kid and therefore when he was adult he wouldn’t let any Beatles music ring in our house. I’m still trying to play catch up on that one.

  2. I really loved the cover of revolution, and just how the whole audience was absolutely loving the concert. like celebrities were just regular fan people for a moment, you know?

I love that skirt and can’t wait to see it for sale! Also, it’s so funny that you mentioned the Beatles in your post. Did you know that 50 years ago today was their first performance on the Ed Sullivan show?

We watched the show and loved it!

The real reason why I am commenting though is because not a single “W” in your entire post is showing up on my computer! Which I think is really random and hopefully just something wrong with my computer, but in case it could be a site problem I thought I would let you know.

Love your designs. You have a gift!

This just might be my most favourtie piece you have ever made! Navy, lace, pockets, bows…4 of my favourite things! I can’t wait until it’s in your shop.

I also grew up listening to the Beatles. I could probably sing every song they’ve ever recorded just from over hearing the albums in my house. And my husband is ALSO a huge fan, so the songs continue in my house :)
