A day in the city with my crew is a really great time to pull out the old momiform.  I talked about this a couple years ago.  A momiform, for me involves anything but yoga pants.  It’s an outfit I can pull out anytime I need to be versatile, comfortable and still feel put together.   This year, since overalls are back in, they’ve become a regular part of my summer momiform, which consists of a soft white tee, my Chuck Taylors, and a fun ball cap.  My hair as you all know, has a frizzy mind of it’s own, so on these warm but wet Seattle days, the best option is a messy side braid and a ball cap.  On a cooler day, I’d even through on a light summer scarf.  Not all about overalls?  Trade them out for a pair of boyfriends.  The key, I’ve found, with a casual outfit is to look intentional, and effortless.  That way you avoid frumpy momsville, which, let’s face it, none of us want to take residence in.

  1. darling as always cori! and overalls would be great right now because anything that uses my waist to stay up is uncomfortable….i wonder if they have maternity styles :)

Oh there you are in Seattle again. Would you consider a coffee meet-up with some of your local fans? It would be great to meet you! Also, you really can rock those overalls.
