Pants: Anthropologie.  Sweater: JCrew. (also loving this one.) Shoes: Nordstrom. Bag: Rebecca Minkoff.  Necklace: Loft. (similar here.)

I saw these pants on Anthro’s website months ago, and I loved them, in theory, but they were also almost $200 and I had some reservations.  (For the record, I don’t have a problem spending a decent amount on a good closet piece, but it’s got to earn it’s way in…)

First of all, I wondered if a pattern as bold as this one would look hideous on my short legs, over-emphasizing their general stubbiness, and in turn make me hate them very passionately, but it turns out I really, honestly love these pants.  And not just these pants… In truth, I was super surprised by how much I loved my legs in these pants.  Guys, I don’t love my legs in any pants, so loving them in a pair of loud oversized Ikat print jeans, well that’s just a really big deal.  Not like, “we walked on the moon” big deal, but you get my drift.

My second reservation was that I  wondered if they were versatile enough to be styled a lot of different ways.  I don’t mind investing in a good piece for my closet, even if it’s a bit expensive, but it has to be a workhorse, and I wasn’t sure just from the pictures online that these pants would be versatile enough to make the cut.  Holy cow, was I wrong.  They are magic pants.  Beside the awesome fit, they go with everything.  I had a hard time deciding what to wear first with them, because everything I tried worked.  Ha, ha!  A stylist’s dream… and nightmare.  I decided to go with my favorite bag and shoes, because well, I totally play favorites, and also pink and blue were made for each other.

Anyway, given the fact that they are now marked way, way down it was a no brainer.  Plus they’re fun to wear, and I’m of the opinion that getting dressed can and should be fun.  Be bold, have fun- this whole outfit is starting to feel like a metaphor for life…

Moving on… because I think you should also know, that this sweater, while it looks toasty, is actually super duper lightweight and perrrrfectly aprop. for summer.

How are we already half way through the week?  And for that matter, almost done with June?

Crazy.
