“I believe in Pink.”

-Audrey Hepburn.

I’ve always loved that particular quote, don’t you?  But then again, I love every quote by Audrey.  I feel like some women really are just born wiser.  Then there are other women, like me, who have to have a whole bunch of life “experiences” to teach them humility and wisdom.  The last few years have been this way for me.  Mostly I try to be happy, and positive.  (Ironically, positive doesn’t come all that naturally to me, but I sure wish it did.)  I have a really wonderful life, and I know that.  But also, some of those deeply sad things have really left their imprint on my heart, and sometimes I just suddenly remember that my baby’s in the ground back in Utah, or that my parents aren’t married anymore, or all the stressful, discouraging, intimidating, lonely moments I’ve had running a business for the last 4 years and I suddenly feel like I’m made of glass, about to break.

Thank heaven for Craig.  He’s a rock if there ever was one.

But enough of the heavy.

Let’s talk about jeans.  That’s a fun subject, right?

I swear I’ve got a radar for great rip and repair denim.  It’s a talent.  I’m rather proud of it.  I just love jeans okay?!  Especially perfectly ripped jeans.  Ripped jeans are a mother’s best friend.  My kids are going to grow up thinking mom doesn’t have any jeans without holes in them because that’s just about all I wear in the denim department.  Have you checked out the denim section of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale?  Strong, the jean offering is very strong, if I do say so myself.  I snagged this pair for a steal of a deal (good denim is worth every penny, but when I can get them on sale, double bonus.) They run a bit small and have NO stretch so you may want to size up a tick…

And thus ends the bizarre and semi-emotional ramblings of blogger probably about to start her period… (if we’re being real.  because that’s when I’m most a basket case.)

Thanks for such a real post. I love reading to your cute outfits, but there’s always real life behind the blog pics, and everyone is going through or has gone through something. So thank you for sharing the ‘heavy’ thoughts too.

I agree, I like it when you post about the real in your life, because your pictures are pretty darn perfect and that makes it seem as if the rest of your life is too… Which logically couldn’t be true, but still…

Remember Audrey suffered terribly during WWII, so her wisdom came at a price, just as yours is, and indeed all of us.
