5 ways to style a white turtleneck sweater.

A good white turtleneck sweater is one of my go-to pieces during the fall and winter seasons. It’s just so easy to style so many different ways, up or down. I love a good versatile closet classic, and a white turtleneck sweater is right up at the top of the list of best pieces you can add to a fall and winter capsule. I picked up this pretty one a couple weeks ago from Madewell and I love the subtle detail, the light knit and how easy it is to work it into my weekly outfit rotation. There are seriously so many ways to wear a sweater like this. Here are 5 ways to style a white turtleneck sweater.

With boyfriend jeans and a leather jacket.

You pretty much can’t go wrong styling a white turtleneck with a leather jacket, here I went all in with the edgier look by styling the sweater with boyfriend jeans and some lace up boots. Such an easy and practical outfit, but still lots of fun.

With plaid wide-leg pants.

I’m seeing these fun plaid pants everywhere this season and I have to say I don’t mind. These pants have become such a favorite in my closet. Really comfortable and fun, and pulled together enough to wear to the office, or the classroom. Throw on a blazer for a little more sophistication or ditch it in favor of some fun earrings and the outfit instantly transforms for a night out.

Monochromatic.

I don’t always think to pull out my white pants this time of year, but it’s fun to style them with a sweater for a winter whites look. Make it more season appropriate by throwing a coat or jacket over top. If you’re really feeling the white look, try a white coat, and if you want something a little more toned down, try a great classic trench.

With classic high waisted jeans and a plaid blazer coat.

Plaid coats like pants are having a moment this year too, and I love how fun they are. Pair the turtleneck with a classic pair of high waisted straight jeans to keep your base layer simple and streamlined and throw on a great wool hat to finish off the look.

With a skirt.

There are endless options for styling a white turtleneck with a skirt, it will look great with everything from a pencil to a circle skirt, so pick your favorite silhouette and pattern and run with it. I paired my sweater with a great little sweater skirt, some over the knee boots and a navy military jacket to finish off the outfit. Have fun with your layers when styling something simple like a white turtleneck. Because it creates such a great clean and easy foundation for an outfit, you can really have a lot of fun accessorizing and playing with different layering options.

I hope these 5 looks gave you some new and different ideas for styling a white turtleneck sweater beyond what you might have tried before. There are so many pretty options for this kind of sweater right now, and lots of fun ways to work it into your outfit rotations.
