The older I get the more I realize what a contradiction I am. Like putting salt on my cantaloupe, or being a total book lover and still love going to the movies.
It makes decorating my house hard, because it can be a little tricky to hone in on a style that I actually want to stick with. I just want to do all the pretty things! (Please tell me I’m not alone in this…)
But, this is especially true when getting dressed. I love girly pieces, dresses and skirts, anything with ruffles and lace, but I could also live in a pair of ripped boyfriend jeans and I have been known to steal my husband’s ties. (True story.)
The great thing about getting dressed is that you don’t have to choose. In fact, sometimes I think it’s almost better when you mix the two extremes. Like pairing this super feminine peplum lace top with a military jacket. A little masculine, a little feminine. And for me it works. I like to do something a little surprising when I’m getting dressed. It keeps it interesting and helps me stay creative.
I love this lace top so much guys. I ordered it in black as well. Is that a total wardrobe no, no? Oh well, just call me a rebel.
Also, I have been searching for a great green military jacket for it feels like years. It seems easy enough, right? Because they are everywhere. But it is so hard to find jackets that work when you are super petite. You guys, this one fits the bill! And who’d have thought Abercrombie? I don’t think I’ve shopped there since I was saving my babysitting money in high school. But I stumbled in the other day and scored this perfect-for-petites military jacket and I am a happy camper about it. A military jacket is the perfect summer to fall transition piece, and I’m going to be wearing this baby tons for the next couple months.
So do you like mixing different extremes? How do you keep it interesting when getting dressed?
