My kids get out of school for the summer in about two weeks, and while I’m excited, it also means a complete schedule/routine change for my days. The summer heat, yard work, having all four kids at home, lots of house projects and outings, summer is a busy time and the last thing I want is to be worried about what I’m wearing.
When I’m in full-on mom duty mode I need my outfits to be super practical, but I still like to feel put together, and maintain my style. I thought maybe there were a lot of other mothers out there who are in the same boat, so I thought I would share 4 easy ways I create effortless summer style, while still being practical.

The Front tuck. I wear a lot of casual tops in the summer. T-shirts(these are my favorites), button-ups, and baseball tees. Relaxed shirts are great for the summer, but to keep them from looking frumpy and make your outfit look intentional, add a front tuck. I know, easiest thing ever, but it seriously elevates an outfit.
Wear a hat. No time to style your hair, (or the muggy summer means your frizz is out in force)? Throw on a hat! Even a baseball hat will do (I love this floral one), but I love a great panama hat (this wide-brim one is my new favorite). Plus, it makes a t-shirt look chic, and keeps your face shaded while you’re out and about.
Try boyfriend jeans. I’ve said it a thousand times, but boyfriend jeans are a mother’s best friend. They are relaxed and easy to move in, but they look stylish and fun.
Go with loose messy curls. A tousled curl look it fun and chic and also really forgiving. It’s also quick and easy. I use a curling wand to get my loose waves and go several days between washing, just touching up my curls a bit each day.
