When we woke up Monday morning, one of the trees in our front yard had dropped approximately 10,000 leaves all over the driveway and front walk.  I spent all evening raking. Welcome fall, indeed.  Now New England just needs to get with the program and give us a break from all this humidity and we could do with a bit of a crisp weather as well…

But the leaves dropping has definitely put me in a fall mood.  Here’s what’s on my radar for my closet this season:

Plaid coats.  This is a HUGE trend this year and one that I am so excited about.  Because it’s classic.  I love it when classic styles become trendy for a season because it’s easier to find great options at lots of price points, and in lots of sizes.  (Makes my petite life easier.). Here are some of my favorite plaid coats this season:

Burnt Orange.  I am seeing this pumpkin inspired color EVERYWHERE right now and I am so happy about that right now.  Anyone who has followed me for a long time, knows I once designed a skirt in this lovely color because it’s one of my favorite fall colors.  So, basically I’m happy as a clam to see it popping up all over this fall.

Dark Mossy Green. Speaking of colors, this dark mossy green is winning me over this season.  Such a great, rich color.

Cropped wide-leg pants.  Call them culottes or whatever you want, these classic pants are back with a vengeance right now, and I am so happy about that.  Pair them with loafers, heeled booties, or slides for fall.

Leopard print.  Seeing a ton of leopard print this fall all over the place.  I love adding leopard as a neutral pop to elevate any outfit.  Here are some of my leopard faves right now:

Camo print.  I’m actually a little surprised that this print is popping up all over right now, but I do really love it.  It’s fun.
