I love beautiful handbags, so of course the current/upcoming handbag trends are one of the things I follow most closely during fashion week. I’m also a mom, and I know that whatever bag I have/carry needs to also be practical for everyday life, otherwise, I’ll never actually use it. An unused handbag is a real tragedy, I try to avoid that.
Which is why I am so excited about a bunch of the handbag trends for fall 2018 from NYFW, both the street style and on the runway, because they are super chic and surprisingly mom friendly.
I do a lot of my handbag shopping on eBay. It’s a fantastic place to find designer bags, since you can often find them brand new and marked way down from retail. (Like 81% of merchandise on eBay is brand new.) And with the search and filter tool it’s easy to narrow down your search by choosing items that are “New with Tags” or buy it now.
So let’s talk about current handbag trends shall we?!
Bucket Bags. I absolutely adore the bucket bag trend. It’s so fun! I love the structure, and how interesting and unique they are. I snagged this amazing Zac Posenone, that (surprise!) also becomes a backpack. I love that you can hold it as a bag and then if the need arises you can strap it to your back as a backpack quick and easy and have your hands free. I love this bag because it’s a gorgeous interesting designer bagand the price is really reasonable for a bag of this caliber, at under $300 retail. I found a bunch of them on eBayfor a steal, almost half the typical retail price and brand new. Here are some of my current favorite bucket bags:
Leather Backpacks: You know I love a good backpack, and a pretty backpack is a mother’s best friend. Free hands all day while you’re chasing after little ones? Yes please. And backpacks are a huge trend right now. (Do I get bonus points for combining two trends with this one??) Here are some of my current favorite backpacks on eBay.
Belt Bags. Otherwise known as fanny packs in the 90’s, these bags are making a big comeback right now. I was very resistant to this trend initially, but there are some really cute options coming out and the throwback is kind of fun. Plus, they are a super mom friendly trend, (really just ask your mom how many she owned in the 90’s ;-) I mean, there’s a reason every parent was wearing them in Disneyland in 1995. I’m loving the updated take on this trend which proves, yet again, that all fashion is cyclical. Here are some of my favorites:
This post was created in partnership with eBay. All opinions are my own.
I am seriously obsessing over that handbag! It is the chicest bag ever!
