I always feel like I get whiplash on the first day of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale because everything is so frantic, things are selling out, it’s crazy. Earlier today I posted my huge NSALE try-on, but I wanted to round-up a few more of my favorites over here, because there were a few more pieces that weren’t in store that I really love.
The Nordstrom sale is a really, really, great time to invest in those staple pieces like jeans, boots, handbags, coats, that are typically higher priced, because you can get them for basically 40% off, pre-season.
I always grab a few pairs of shoes, some great denim (hello Madewell denim in this year’s sale!), a few good sweaters for fall, and maybe a coat or jacket.

Best of jeans:
My biggest excitement in the jeans department this year, is of course the Madewell denim, these black skinny jeans in particular, are literally some of the most flattering I’ve ever tried on (marked down by almost $50). I’m also loving these AG boyfriend jeans and they are marked down $75!
Best of Sweaters:
I wasn’t overly amazed by the diversity of selection on the sweaters, and holy cow they are selling out so fast. I feel like a lot of the best ones were sold out before early access even started today. Sadly. There are some really pretty Madewell options, and I’m loving this Chelsea28 one but they’re all selling out really fast so make sure and hurry to check them out. (Also, check back again because things get restocked!)
Best of Tops:
Lots of great basic tops, and pretty statement pieces in the sale this year. Loving that they included a few of the J.Crew graphic tees, you know those are my favorites.
Best of Dresses & skirts:
I can’t even tell you how happy I am with the dresses this year. Beautiful Gal Meets Glam pieces, this gorgeous leopard skirt and matching top set, and of course that insane Sam Edelman fall dress. Swoon.
Best of Coats:
I think my two favorites from the coats this year are that amazing leopard Bernardo coat and this utility jacket from Madewell!!! Can you even with that amazing mustard color! Perfect fall capsule piece. (Although you better believe I’m going to wear it through the summer.)
Best of Shoes:
So many good shoes this year. Loving the flats, and booties, all the Adidas athletic shoes, and they even brought back the Steve Madden OTK boots for the third year in a row.
Best of Lounge and Athletic:
Winner by far of the lounge section are these softest Pajamas in the world! I feel like I’ll have trouble ever getting dressed, I want to live in them. Lots of great barefoot dreams cardigans, and of course the Zella leggings are the star of athletics this year. So good.
Best of Handbags and Accessories:
As per the usual, lots of Tory Burch and Kate Spade bags in this years’ sale, so if you are looking to snag a new handbag, it’s the perfect time. Also! A few Madewell bags are included as well and I rounded up some pretty jewelry, sunglasses and hats above.
