slightly disheveled.

It’s weekend eve folks.  Woo to the hoo.  I swear, Thursday is almost as exciting as Friday.  It means tomorrow is Friday, and the day after Saturday.  Yessssssss.
If it looks like I am slightly disheveled in these pics, it’s because I am.  I spent the whole afternoon taking down our Christmas lights (finally!).  I know, pathetic.  At least it isn’t February yet, right?  Right?  Anyways, this is just a slight variation on the classic t-shirt and jeans.  I just threw on a couple extra pieces and textures to make it more interesting, and ditched the dorky mommy tennis shoes.
Want to know a super big secret?  You can do almost anything in ballet flats.  And I do.  I hung and took down all my Christmas lights (yes that included climbing ladders) wearing a pair of ballet flats.  These are a fabulous not-too-intense gold and they sparkle(!) just a little.  Um, love it.

How it worked: I’m trying to come to terms with the fact that no matter what I put on, I’m going to look short.  I look short here, but I don’t think it’s the outfit’s fault, it was trying really hard to make me look tall, but my body type just wouldn’t give an inch.  Dang genetics.  This top is so pretty and comfortable it makes it worth putting up with the “hand-wash only” requirement.  The sweater goes with so many different parts of my wardrobe, I can’t help but adore it.  These jeans are a little lower rise than I normally prefer, but I still love them; they fit and did you check out the stitching on my behind?  Awesome.

  2. Love love love… Stunning colors on you. And, PS, that outfit totally DOES NOT make you look short. You are perfectly petite and short was the last thing I thought when I looked at your pictures. Love you, sister!
