Right now, I’m sitting a bed in my niece’s room in Utah, while Ava’s sleeping on the floor with her cousins. I’ve been here since Tuesday (very late) night. Two days if soaking up my new niece’s newborn smell, kissing the cheeks of my cherubic nephew and having so many good talks with my sisters. I love that this is the way I’m finishing out May.
It’s always tricky when you travel, trying to pack for what you think the weather might be, trying not to have your suitcase be too bulky, trying to plan outfits that will be easy but still make you feel confident, and then shoes. Oh the shoes. They are so heavy and take up so much space!
On this trip, where it’s been a lot of spring weather, warm but then suddenly cool and a little rain, and I was going to be primarily helping with my sister’s new baby, I went with my fall back everyday momiforms. This easy layered outfit has been my basic formula, and it’s been perfect for the trip. Skinny jeans, a great popover, a leather jacket, and some fun flats. I’m actually rather proud of myself because I only packed 3 pairs of shoes (besides my running shoes and they don’t count obviously). But so far I’ve only worn these leopard ones because they go with everything. Seriously. If you are going on a trip this summer do yourself a favor and pack a pair of leopard flats. Also, while we’re on the subject of what to pack. Hello leather jackets. They also are so versatile and easy to pack. And I think they just really elevate any outfit.
Well, I better go, I’m heading out in a bit to help my sister get her baby’s newborn pictures taken, but make sure and pop-in tomorrow morning, because I’ll be rounding up all the memorial day sales… there are some really good ones coming!

Well and packing for spring in Utah… You’re basically packing a couple of outfits for every season ;) enjoy the new baby goodness! My new baby just turned 6 months and I am not sure about it.
