Hat. (also similar here.) Jeans. Shirt. Bag. Necklace. Shoes.
Did anyone watch the debate last night? Blah. I hate Presidential election years. They are the literal worst.
In other, much more awesome election news, my oldest Hannah just ran for student government for the first time, and yesterday we found out that she won! {insert dancing girl emoji} She worked so hard writing a clever and creative speech, putting together posters and campaigning, and while I know my kids need to learn about disappointment while they are kids (because let’s be real, that’s part of life) it’s also nice when their hard work is reinforced with success.
To be honest, I was nervous all day yesterday until she called to tell me she had won. Now I know how my mom felt all those years while I was running in school.
Motherhood, man. It is not for the faint of heart.
Lately, I feel so aware of the changes happening around me. Usually life is so subtle, but right now, I feel like all my kids are shifting into older, more grown up stages, and I’m shifting too. It’s making me see the beauty in the journey so much clearer.
Maybe that’s why fall is everyone’s favorite. It’s the only season where the change is so visibly obvious. It makes it so much more beautiful, don’t you think? All those golden leaves with just touches of green.
In Seattle, fall is even more vivid because we never fully loose the green too and it just enhances the vibrant red and gold tones on all the deciduous trees.
I guess that was the subconscious inspiration for this outfit. Simple basics, a warm toned bag and just a touch of green. Olive has always been a favorite shade to wear (it works really well with my coloring) and this hat is the perfect fall accessory addition. I was thrilled with the fit and the width of the brim- wide but not too wide, nice and structured. I can’t wait to mix and remix it throughout the colder months.
What’s your favorite color to wear in the fall?
Congrats to your daughter! That’s so exciting! I love your Fall outfit! The touch green from your hat is perfect!

thanks so much Liv! It’s pretty basic, but this hat is going to be on repeat…
I would love to have seasons again! Growing up in Canada, now living in Southern California, I miss the changing weather and scenery so much! Dying to wear a cute fall outfit like this soon :)
And you guys are totally having a heat wave right now! That is totally how I felt for the 4.5 years we lived in Arizona. Eating thanksgiving dinner outside and swimming in February had it’s benefits, but mostly I missed seasons so, so much. I think that’s why I really revel in them now that we live in the PNW. Especially fall ;-)
