holiday gift guide for your girlfriends.

I sat down the other day to finalize my Christmas shopping lists.  You know, what I’ll be getting for everyone in my life and all that.  It’s a great way for me to stay organized and also on budget.  Incidentally it also helps me create gift guides for the blog because I see what I’m leaning towards for the special people in my life.  (Why does that sound like a line from the lego movie?  Anyone else hear Chris Pratt’s voice right now?  Anyone?  Bueller…)

I took Hannah and Ava on a little shopping trip with me, and we had such a ball picking out pieces and seeing how we could coordinate them.  Shopping for your girlfriends is 100% fun and we all got into the joy of giving while hunting down a bunch of fun pieces.  And I love that at JC Penney a little money goes a long way.  We were able to put together a great little bunch of gifts all for under $40.

Here are some great ideas that came out of our little shopping trip:

1. A pretty notebook and coordinating travel cup.  I’m a major list maker/note taker.  I keep all my lists in notebooks and then I keep them and they kind of serve as my daily journal/this is what I was up to record keeper, so I love finding pretty notebooks and I love getting/giving them as gifts.  I pretty much always gravitate to stripes but these fun notebooks come in lots of patterns and colors, you really can’t go wrong with them.  I paired it with a matching travel cup to, because twinning is winning. ;-) The notebooks are under $10 and the travel mug is under $15.

  2. A Chic Clutch. I love this black Liz Claiborne clutch because it is chic, comes in a bunch of colors (I almost got the red one) it’s got a built in charger.  Brilliant!  I am on my phone ALOT with my work stuff, running my family, always snapping pictures and video of my kids, and even though I have a newer phone I feel like I’m always running out of battery.  I love the idea of having a built in charger, right in my bag.  Plus, how chic would this be for a night out on the town with your hubby.  I also love that it’s around $30.

3. Slippers!  I am such a slipper wearer guys.  It’s one of the ways I treat myself.  I feel so pampered at the end of the day, just by slipping my little feet into a cozy pair of slippers.  I cannot even begin to express how insanely comfy these Dearfoam slippers are, but the second I tried them on, I knew they had to make it into the gift guide.  (Then I subtly gave Hannah about 7 different hints that if a pair ended up under the tree for her mom, I wouldn’t be sad about it… I have high hopes that she got the hint ;-)  They’re also under $30.

4. A pom keychain.  If funds are tight, a great idea is just a little something thoughtful.  A fun pouf keychain adds a fun pop to any handbag and at under $15 it’s a great gift if you’ve got a lot of girlfriends to buy for.

So there you have it!  A fun little gift guide for your girlfriends!

Happy Shopping!
