sweater. (on sale.) jeans. hunter boots. (kids version here.) bag. similar coat.
We’re going through a gray spell in Seattle right now. It’s been raining for the last couple days and it’s supposed to rain for at least four more. That’s pretty typical of the Pacific Northwest this time of year, but whenever the weather gets like this in Seattle I feel like I just sort of naturally dress a little moodier.
I don’t mind this. I love color, but I also really love neutrals, especially moody neutrals like gray and black. And especially in the winter. They make me feel chic. (I like things that make me feel chic. There’s not a lot of opportunity to feel chic when you’re a 4’11” mom of four. Just kidding. Sort of.) But seriously, if it’s a gray or black sweater… sign me up.
I fell in love with this Donegal sweater when I spotted it online. I love donegal wool because it’s got so much more depth with the little flecks of color, and this pretty version is nice and lightweight while still being warm. I love that it’s also got a great slouchy fit for tucking and that it’s a slightly cowled turtleneck. It goes perfect with my new black Hunters I just bought myself for my birthday a couple weeks ago. (I’m so thoughtful. ;-)
So do you dress moodier on rainy days, or do you feel the need to reach for the bold colors to brighten things up a bit?
Hi Corilynn,
I love your blog and have followed for years!
Congrats on your move!! I have a question.
I’m 4’10” and 94 lbs. Can you tell me what size you
bought in the donegal sweater and the ag jeans!
Love your look! Already bought the kids Hunters
on your recommendation. Thanks so much!!!
Such a great outfit!
