Apparently I was feeling a bit nautical when I got dressed.  Which is funny, because there is no water here.  Like, at all.  There’s this river that runs through Phoenix called the Salt River.  There’s no water in it.  Seriously, they should change the name to the Salt Riverbed.  I think I once saw a small puddle in it when I was driving to the airport about a year ago after it had rained for almost 2 weeks straight.  Huh.  I grew up in California which means I miss the ocean all the time.  I have this little fantasy of living in a hundred year old house with white planked walls and scraped wood floors in eye shot of the ocean, with a boat house that, well houses my little sail boat, and my antique bike with a basket.  (I don’t have any of these things yet, they’re just dreams)  Everyday I would ride that bike down to the local outdoor market and buy vegetables and take my sailboat out for a spin with the husband and kids.  Ahhhh… that’s what I was feeling when I got dressed.  I think your clothing should reflect your mood.

Today is Saturday, and the husband is in class all day.  Which means, I’m going to do yard work, and mop my tile floors and laundry and perhaps do an epic closet purge in the master bedroom which I never got around to last week.  It’s going to be awesome.  Tonight when he gets home, I’m going to make him watch our netflix movie which should be arriving today and play a few games of nerts.  It won’t be the same with out my brother-in-law kicking the crap out of us every.single.time. but we’ll try to live with our grief.  I love Saturdays.
How it worked:  My only issue with this outfit was that it was just a little too warm for the blazer. I know, hard to believe, but it was seriously almost 70 degrees outside.  Come on now!  I’d like it a little bit cooler in January please.  Just a few months to wear my sweaters and jackets.  And have I told you before that I LOVE mustard yellow?  Ah, I looooooove mustard yellow.
