I almost wore a necklace with this outfit.  I was this close, and then I thought, that with the hair, it was over kill.  Now, looking at these pictures, I should have stuck with the necklace.  Although the front of this shirt is quite fabulous.  I wish you could really see the fantastic texture of it.  Seriously the computer doesn’t do it justice.  I really truly believe that whether an outfit works or not (besides the obvious structural foundations) has everything to do with the details. Which brings me to hair.  Have you ever seen someone, who looks great except, eh not quite because their hair is just, oh so drab?  I think hair accounts for (at least) 1/3 of the style.  Done fabulously, it can be a statement piece,  done well, it can be a staple, done poorly (or not at all) and it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Girls should fix their hair everyday, just saying.  And not lightly, either.  I don’t roll out of bed with fabulous hair.  In fact, I have pain in the whosie-what, pray it doesn’t rain, high maintenance hair.  It is crazy thick, and has a lot of curl and even more frizz.  I have an uneven hair line and an annoying as all get out cowlick. It takes me at least 45 minutes to fix my hair on a wash day, and that’s if I am hurrying.  But, I do my hair every. single. day.  Now granted, I have my go-to styles (like this little gem) that I turn to in a pinch, that get me from tousled bed-head to out-the-door ready in minutes flat, but on average, fixing my hair is a big time commitment.  And if I can find time, (mother of three, husband who works full time and is in grad school, busy busy, blah, blah, blah) anyone can.

I do have to laugh a little though, when someone tells me I’ve got beautiful hair.  Oh, if they only knew what happens to this hair when it gets wet… and then I pray it doesn’t rain…

I like this outfit without an necklace. With the neckline of the blouse and the ruffles on the cardigan and the blouse, you don’t need a necklace.

I’ll be honest, I totally leave the house with wet hair. I’m all about the easy-maintenance hair. Thank goodness for curly hair.
