Sweater: Forever21, Linen Pants:The Loft, Scarf: The Loft, Shoes: Target, Earrings: Vintage |
I saw this outfit in my head a few weeks ago while in the throws of my 30 for 30. That’s what happens when you limit yourself, you start dreaming about what you’d do with all your other clothes. So in my head, this outfit was going to be awesome. Nautical with just touch of feminine. Very spring appropriate. Then I created it on Polyvore to see if I was right and in theory I was. Body type, fit, etc. all contribute to whether or not an outfit works, so what looks good in theory might not always translate into real life. This outfit (if I may be so bold) I think translated nicely into real life. My friend told me I looked very nautical. Yesssssss…. That was so the look I was going for.
Now where’s my sailboat?
Speaking of creation. Do you want to know how much this outfit would have cost me had I created it directly from polyvore? $567. Yikes. Do you want to know what it actually cost me? $55. I told you I was thrifty.
Here’s the breakdown in case your were wondering:
Pants: 30$ originally $70, bought on a 50% off clearance sale at the Loft.
(want a little hint? The Loft has a sale on their clearance items about every other week, I never pay full price for anything there.)
Sweater: $15.
Shoes: $4 marked down from $15 at Target.
Scarf: $4 another big markdown at the Loft from $30
Earring: $2
=55
So pretty! The striped shirt is gorgeous and the white is so crisp.

I love your blog! You always look great and I like to see how you dress your small frame. I’m 5’3 and still have trouble looking lost in clothes! You always look adorable!
Love the sweater. I agree with DeeAnna — you dress your frame quite beautifully!
I really like this look. Thanks for the inspiration! :)
