Last night, I had my oral final for French.  If that sounds intimidating, don’t worry.  It was.  Not to mention the fact that my allergies have been ridiculous (insert French accent) all week.  My sinuses are a locked door, and if you know anything about French, you know it’s super nasally.  To combat my little blockage pre-exam I took 2 very large extra strength allergy pills, which preceded in making me very drowsy and a little spacey, about the time I was set to take my test.  Lovely.  When it was all said and done (literally) my Professor told me that I did a great job.  Let’s just hope “great job” translates to an “A.”

The one thing I really admire about ASU is the landscaping.  There’s not a whole lot of green in Arizona, but the grounds on campus are lovely.  And now I feel like I just stepped out of an Austen novel.  Clearly, I’m the perfect English major.  French speaking(ish), English major.  Now excuse me, I’ve got to go find Mr. Darcy…

à bientôt.

  2. Special! Don’t you just love how those things always happen at the worst time :( At least you looked adorable while feeling like garbage. That’s a MAJOR victory in my book!

Hey Cory! I hope you are feeling better. I love your white linen pants so much I have to get one pair too. I found a petite cut at the LOFT and they fit very nicely. How did you wash yours? Did they shrink a lot?? The length is just right with heels one and I am afraid they will get ruined after washing them (the tag says machine washable). Thanks in advance!!

    Charlie,

The Loft has THE BEST! linen pants. I just wash mine normal in the wash with my whites. Which means hot and I throw them in the dryer. I haven’t noticed them shrink, if at all it’s just barely. If you are worried about the length, I would just wash them cold and hang to dry, but it is no problem at all to wash these pants, which is what I LOVE about them. They are so low- maintenance.

I majored in English as well, and pretended for a while that I’d minor in French.

Total fail. It was taking too long :) I hope your oral went well. I don’t miss those.

Also, I’m amazed at how many Austen references are out “there” right now. I just finished reading a review of Austen in order to get psyched up to read “pride and prejudice” again. I’m just not a fan.

That probably makes me the worst English major in the world.
