I’m one of those girls. You know, the kind that swell up like a raisin in water at the drop of a hat. No really, I’m not kidding. When I was pregnant with Miss Hannah, I was so swollen (thank you, preeclampsia) I looked like the offspring of Jabba the hut. Seriously. I wish I was kidding. Poor Mr. Husband, we’d only been married 11 months when Hannah was born, so I basically spent the first year of our marriage looking like a total beast. Lovely. Anyways, pretty much any time I eat too much salt and don’t exercise I begin to swell, especially my face. And since I spent the first half of the week in Disneyland, eating pretty much the most delicious crap on the planet, churros, cotton candy, and The Monte Cristo sandwich at the Blue Bayou (hello, deep-fried-artery-clogging-heaven), and the second half of the week doing laundry and not exercising, by the time I took these pictures on Friday I was beginning to resemble the stay-puff marshmallow man. Bummer.
I’ve tried to make them work for so long, but I have finally come to terms with the fact that they don’t really look good on me. It’s a real shame too, because they are so cute and comfy, but the truth is, it doesn’t matter how cute a piece of clothing is, if it doesn’t flatter it doesn’t look good. And these pants make me look short and portly; two things I avoid like the plague. I think it’s time they became Sunday pants, you know the ones you slip on after church so you’re still dressed if someone pops by, but they’re comfortable enough to nap in. That way I can put them on and pretend I look hot in them while drifting off to sleep. Yes, this is a good plan…
So I don’t see the puffiness you’re talking about – And I love those pants. I wonder if wearing wedges or heels with them would help?
p.s. LOVE your blog. So cute and such wonderful inspiration for fashion!

If you love the material, you could rip out the inseam and make a skirt out of it. I have done that before. Love your blog, by the way.
I absolutely LOVE the outfit! You are SO CUTE!
You are too cute! Loved the post!
And I love your header!
I could only dream of having MY “puffy” face look like yours! You are NOT swollen AT ALL!!!!! You are gorgeous… even with your, um, “puffy” face.
You could make those pants into long, Bermuda shorts. I would, if I were you, because they are so fun.
This is my first time visiting….and I think your gorgeous….it’s sad you think your puffy cause I seriously am puffy 24/7…not just when I eat salt girl! :)
I think those pants would be cute if they were really short..they might be too long with that design, however….short shorts…and us …out…
Cute…
You guys are making me feel so much better about my puffy face! And also, thanks for all the great ideas, I hadn’t even really considered trying to rework them, but now that I think about it, it seems like that should have been obvious. Maybe they aren’t a lost cause after all!
I think if you shortened the pants, that it would help the proportion issue. The fabric is wonderful, and you could give it a shot :)
