How much are we all loving the new ikat trend that is everywhere right now? It makes me feel all proud of myself for coming up with my own little ikat design. But seriously. This stuff is everywhere, home decor, clothing, you name it. So it makes me wonder why the girl at the store looked at me like I was nuts when I asked her if they had any of the fabulous ikat maxi dresses (hanging in the window) in a size XS. How can you work at clothing store and not know the term ikat? Pft. I mean, I’ve known it for like 3 whole weeks.
Just in case you were like me and didn’t know the actual name of this print/style until you googled it.
Ikat, or Ikkat, is the method of weaving that uses a resist dyeing process similar to tie-dye on either the warp or weft fibres.
