downtown.

Chambray shirt: H&M.  Jacket, Sunnies: The Loft.  Pants: Old Navy.  Shoes: Payless.  Purse: Ross.  ‘Stach necklace: c/o little miss mama.

We moved hotels yesterday.  Did you know that it’s hard to get a reservation for an entire month in the same hotel at the last minute?  Yeah, apparently, these things fill up sometimes.  So I had to pack us up in a frenzy, (like literally) when I got a call from the front desk informing us that the reservation they thought they had for us, they didn’t really have.  I thought they were moving us to a bigger room, and then they realized that they had overbooked.   It ended up being a stroke of luck,  because it turns out the downtown Hilton a couple of blocks from Pike Place Market is way cooler than the Hilton by the airport.  I know, shocking.  Not to mention the fact that I am walking distance from H&M, Borders, Banana Republic, and most importantly The Loft.  Walking distance from my favorite store in the whole world?  This is pure luck.

Last night we walked a few block down to the Sound (Puget that is) and looked at Pike Place Market (which was pretty much closed by then) and stood on the dock, looking out over the water.  I am so in love with Seattle already.  This has got to be one of the coolest cities I have ever been in.  I love cities.  I love the pace, the feel, the noise. And I love the way this city sits right on the edge of the water, and there are boats everywhere and ferries carting people back and forth to little islands, and lots of hills, and brick buildings (even if some of them are covered in gum) and a market that smells like fish, and all the clouds and trees.  I love it all.

PS.  Did you notice my wicked awesome ‘stache necklace c/o little miss mama?  I love it a lot. It’s totally quirky and darling.  You shoud get on over there right now and buy one.  The world needs more quirkiness.

And Anthro too! Seattle is my home and so wonderful in the summer. Next time you go to the market go across the street to Peroshky, Peroshky. I highly reccomend the rhubarb peroshky.
My kids love the Seattle Art Museum, they have great free play areas and art studios. Ooh and go to Fran’s to get salted caramels and got chocolate.
    So glad you love Seattle!

You are basically living in my homeland…I’m so jealous. We’re in Portland now, but we definitely plan on heading back that way when my husband graduates.
