insanity.

Blouse, Sweater, jeans, scarf: The Loft.  Wedges: Old Navy.  Belt: Forever 21 (still available!) Bag: Ross.
Yesterday the littles and I went gallivanting around the city, on foot.  I asked them if they wanted to get the car from the valet and go somewhere or if they wanted to walk down to the shops on foot.  The vote was unanimous.  I’ve heard that child obesity is a major problem right now, but my littles are twigs, cause they like to move it, move it.  In fact, we all do.  So after I threatened death should any of them fail to hold my hand at all times, we ventured out into the bustling streets and crowded sidewalks.  4 foot, not-quite-11 me and three little kids.  Crossing busy streets where cars seem to think that a red light is only a suggestion.  And I wore may favorite coral wedges.  Granted, I garnered more than one perplexed look, but I’m not really sure if that was because of the wedges, that I look 12, or the fact that we were walking 4 abreast.
Sorry people, single file just wasn’t happening.

So how did the feet fare in the wedges?  Fabulously.  How do I do it?  Two words for you.  Gel inserts.   Dr. Scholl’s heel liner gel inserts to be exact.  Let me tell you something, these wedges were almost impossible to walk in before I got my hands on those babies.  But, you put those inserts in and they eliminate virtually all slipping.  Plus they’re all soft and cushy so they make your shoes more comfortable, and if you have a pair of heels that give you blisters, look no further.

People are always asking me how I pull off heels as a mom.
I’m crazy.  That’s how.
And I refuse to give up heels because I love them, and I’m obstinate.
But these make my insanity a little more comfortable.
And after all, insanity should at least be comfortable.

oh, and ps.  I actually did post the new styles in the shop yesterday, they just all sold out.
I promise I’m not a liar.
(Don’t worry, I’ll be posting more soon.)

I’m so with you on the people staring perplexed thing when I’m out w/ my 3. Most think I’m a young teen mom. Being 4’11” probably doesn’t help, but wedges are my ultimate fave shoe to wear. EVER.

I will be just like you (hopefully) heels were made to be worn! And when you’re short like us, you can get away with it.

Welcome to Seattle! Thanks so much for the tip on the wedge inserts. I have the exact same pair of shoes and could not figure out how to keep them on. I have resorted to stuffing tissue in the toe to make them really tight…that is how much I love them. I can’t wait to try the inserts!!!

Love your look! I can’t live without gel inserts. They are the only way to stand on your feet all day with heels and not have your feet hating you by the end of the day.

  16. I Love Ross.. Uber cute bag & outfit I must say!! I however, am a mom that gave up heals :( at least 75% of the time. I once pulled a Britney Spears and almost crushed my 18 month old child while flailing, trying to catch myself falling while crossing a street.
