Jeans, jacket: The Loft. Chambray button up: Forever21. Shoes, watch: Target. Belt: Thrifted. Scarf: Old Navy. Purse: Ross |
I decided to take The Loft’s advice once again and try out wearing all blue. I am happy to report that they remain infallible. I love going monochromatic when I dress, and this chambray shirt matched with a pair of dark wash jeans made the perfect outfit for a day out in the city.
Have I mentioned before that I have an obsession with blue?
On Saturday, we walked the kids down Pike Street in the misting rain and met some friends at the Seattle aquarium. Despite the fact that I had not one, but two umbrellas, (or berellas, if you’re my 3-year-old) my hair still got wet. Which meant that about half way through the aquarium, when it had all dried out, I had a seriously big head of frizzy hair. Lovely. I can get my hair looking pretty good, but if there is any moisture in the air, forget about it. This of course renewed my desire to get a blowout. So here is my question for you lovlies out there. Brazilian or Keratin blowout? I’ve heard good things about both, but I’m leaning towards the Brazilian cause they wash your hair right there. If any of you have experience with either of these treatments, do share.
After the aquarium, a fish and chips lunch, and a jaunt through the crowded market, the kids were spent. So amid the melodious sounds of Carter’s whining we trudged back up the hill to the hotel. This, of course, is typical, and called for an afternoon of recoup with dad while mom took to the city streets again in search of Miss Hannah’s birthday presents. I like to wait until the last second on things. It makes life so much more interesting.
ps.
Come back later and I’ll show you how to make your hemmed pants look store bought instead of home hemmed.
love the outfit.
love it.. blue is something i go to when i cant settle on something and it has never failed!
So cute. And Loft never disappoints, am I right? :)
Yeah, that’s the problem with Seattle rain, renders ‘brellas pretty useless when it comes at ya sideways!
I am not sure about the keratin vs. brazilian debate but Seven salon is amazing. They have one in Bellevue Square and also downtown :)
such a cute outfit! I love blue too :)
I have no idea what a blowout is, but I’m interested if it deals with getting rid of the frizz.

love the outfit! Q: are those jeans straight leg or bootcut?
This outfit is straight out from a magazine, it’s so perfect! I love the scarf and jacket. It’s getting me excited for fall so I can layer up. Also you hair looks gorgeous in these pictures and I had to comment.
Complex Cardigans
Beyond love this! And I’m still drooling over that bag.
P.S. if you have any of the navy stripe fabric left I’m officially placing an order :)
I asked my hair stylist about a keratin treatment and she explained that they no longer offer this service because it releases formaldehyde during the process. I love the way hair looks after a keratin treatment so I was pretty bummed to hear this :(
I’m super obsessed with blue as well!! Love the scarf :) xo
Your gorgeous girl!
I am actually getting Japanese straightening right now as i write this :) and it’s the best treatment out there – no formaldehyde, and it last for good 4-5 months, no need to do anything to your hair once you get out of the shower. The only thing is you can’t do highlights….
My stylist does keratin treatments, and raves about them. My sister has had a few, and loves them. Not sure about the formaldehyde thing though. And, Happy Birthday to Hannah. She is such a sweet sweet girl, and we can’t wait to get to know her more. I also witnessed that our 5 year olds kept each other very good “company” during Primary, after yours warmed up a bit. Not so sure what their teachers felt about that though.
Really, unless your hair stylist is using a zero formaldehyde solution, you get formaldehyde in either the Brazilian or the Keratin treatments. And there’s still some pretty rough chemicals in the formaldehyde-free versions, and in the Thermal Reconditioning (Japanese treatment). The best thing to do is to find a GOOD stylist/salon and consult with them which one is best for your hair. I know girls that have gotten the wrong treatments and ended up with a lot of damage.
Really cute! I have those shoes and love ’em!
LOVE the Brazillian Blowout. I actually am a hairstylist and have done about 50 of these treatments on clients, and have not one client who has come to complain. They all love it! Also, I’ve had one on myself 2 times now and live in the great humid Houston Texas and it has done miracles for me. :)
Let me know how you like it if you decide to get it done.
Oh, I so need that hemming tutorial. Or another few inches on my legs. Whichever… I’m not picky. :)
That bag is fabulous, too, by the way.
Love how you mixed the blue and the pink! Very cute :)

Love the outfit! So cute, as usually. As for the blowout question, maybe read this article I found.

I have had two Keratin treatments. Mine didn’t have formaldehyde and I was told that the Brazilian did, so that’s why I opted for the Keratin. With the Keratin treatment, though, you cannot use regular shampoo and conditioner or it will ruin it. You have to get special Keratin shampoo and conditioner.
That bag is amazing!

I read this about Brazilian Blowouts, and am pretty leery about getting one.
And now for the actual link. Duh!
