Skirt: The Loft. White Button up: Charlotte Russe. Cardi, Shoes, RIng, Watch: Target. Bobble Necklace: Walmart. |
I really liked what I wore on Sunday, even if it was a little librarian meets safari. Is that vain to admit? Never mind, this is a fashion blog, it’s pretty much a study in vanity.
Anyways, Sunday is pretty much my favorite day to get dressed. Even though Mr. Husband hovers over me like a black Friday shopper waiting for the doors to open at Shopco, asking me every 5 minutes how much longer until I’m ready to go.
I despise this practice, and he knows it.
But he does it anyway.
Back to Sunday, though.
On Sunday, I get to wear dresses or skirts and heels, every week and it’s never “inappropriate” because your supposed to get dolled up for church.
And being a mom doesn’t afford a lot of opportunities for getting dolled up.
So I just do it anyway.
And most days I end up having kind of an argument with myself between what I really want to wear and what’s appropriate for me to wear given whatever demands the day ahead has.
For instance:
I really want to wear heels, but I’m also going to be dragging three kids a mile down the road in downtown Seattle. Flats win.
I want to wear all white, but it’s raining and the boys have this “thing” about jumping in puddles.
Dark wash denim it is.
Also, did you notice how “curvy” I look in this skirt? That’s my nice way of saying that I have only worked out maybe 6 times in the last month and it’s starting to show. Only 2 more weeks of hotel living, thank goodness.
Post script:
I can’t believe I forgot to mention:
The Loft is having a 50% off all their sale styles right now.
If you frequent this blog, you know how bananas I am for The Loft.
I stopped into the store yesterday It was a good visit…
Seriously, check it out.
I’ve been following you for a little while and I think this is one of my favourite outfits I’ve seen on you!
I did stop in yesterday and I bought this skirt!! And I was thinking how perfect it would look with a white shirt and gold/mustard type cardi!
So I guess what I’m saying is I LOVE THIS LOOK! :)
i love your blog!! and this outfit! and your right the only day of the week that a get to dress nice is on sunday. i spend the whole week wearing scrubs, so i like to look pretty at church!
I stopped in there for the first time and came out with a few items! So glad I went in!
Cute skirt! Love the black and white skirt with the yellow cardi. I would get dressed up every day if I could! On weekdays when I am wearing a skirt/dress people always ask me why I am dressed up. Sundays are also my day when I can get all dressed up for church!
Fashion v. Practicality is every mother’s struggle! At least we have Sundays, right!
Especially love the necklace…super cute!
I love this pencil skirt on you!! It goes great with the yellow. I’ve been itching for a giraffe print anything for a while now and this outfit make me want that skirt even more.
This could be my favorite ever? But I think I’ve told you that before…
And I think you look hot! But it will feel nice to exercise regularly again :)
I can totally relate! I’m trying to master the art of dressing for the needs of motherhood, career and the girl, all with different requirements, which by and by, you’ve seemed to master a style that works for your everyday… and with three kids, dang! Love the mustard cardi with a bold print. Very classy.

Yeah, I picked up a new top from LOFT two days ago for an extra 50% off – regular old Ann Taylor was having the same sale and I got myself the softest cardigan in existence for only $10!
You look great as a safari librarian! :)
You are absolutely stunning! I am loving the giraffe print with the cardigan and button up. I don’t know if I can resist a sale like that at the loft.
