slightly less scraggly.

Shirt: Forever21.  Pants: Gap.  Belt: Downeast Basics . Shoes: Target.
Yesterday, I gave my boys a haircut.  I brought then into my bathroom and buzzed, snipped and blended until they went from scraggly looking little boys, to slightly less scraggly looking little boys.  Then they stood in my shower for a good half an hour each and hosed the hair off their backs and out of every crevice.  And when it was all over, they looked pretty good.  I was mentally patting myself on the back, and doing solitary high fives throughout the entire haircut process, because: A. I needed the encouragement, and B. I was doing a pretty good job.
I am not good at cutting hair.
I don’t have a steady hand.
and also, I don’t really know what I’m doing.
This is not a winning combination in the haircut department.
So cutting my boys’ hair is hard for me.
But, I discovered something this week.

Doing hard things is liberating.
Like how Mr. Husband had to put in 14 hour days the entire week to make up for the fact that we took a week long sabbatical last week, and we moved into our new (to us) house on Monday.  So he had ridiculously long grueling days, and I had to coordinate the move and unpack the house husband-less with all three kids in tow.
And you know what?  Everything was fine.
Great in fact.
Husband got all his work done.
The house is all unpacked, and put away.
Kids are happy.
Husband is happy.
I am happy.
 I can do hard things.
And knowing that makes me feel good, about being me.

Good job girl! I know I feel proud of myself whenever I cut my hubby’s hair. You should post a pic of your cutie pies with their new hairdos. :) Also, love the outfit, of course!

Yes, that is so true!! We grow so much through hard things!

I usually cut my husbands hair but it is always a tense hour as he is very picky with his hair and I am nervous :)

    Love your outfit!
