the water’s edge.

Blouse: Jason Wu for Target.  Sweater/Jacket/Necklace: The Loft.  Pants: Banana Republic(thrifted and altered by me).  Shoes/Bag: Ross.  Sunnys: Oscar de la Renta. Cute littles in the background:c/o Mr. (thanks baby)



I don’t know if you can tell how insanely beautiful an evening it was last night.  

We drove the littles up to Kirkland so they could play with the ducks and run along the dock on the edge of Lake Washington.  There is something so whimsical about the littles playing on the water’s edge at sunset.  The golden light dancing around on the surface, and their silhouettes running back and forth, scooping up rocks and throwing them into the lake.  In that instant, everything is right in the world, and magic is real, and life is a collection of beautiful fleeting moments like that one.  It made me want to wrap them up and keep them there for a very long time. 

But alas, the sun set, and despite that golden-y glow, it was so cold.

Gorgeous, magic even, but freezing.

Which somehow made it all the more lovely.  



On an entirely unrelated note, I have oscillated back and forth probably 30 times about whether or not I should dye these pants.  Every time I’ve decided to do it, I try them on again remember how versatile cream colored pants are, and then talk myself out of it again.  

So anyways, your thoughts?

Should I leave them as is, or dye them a lovely blush color?

    I would leave them cream colored. While blush has been popular as of late, I don’t think it’s going to stick around after all the bright colors coming out for spring. Brights are everywhere right now.

    Don’t touch those pants girl…..hahaha….they look the perfect cream color and fit awesome on you. There will be another chance to dye another maybe white pants in to blush or any color, besides spring is coming so you will have the chance to wear many cute colorfull pants that you already have.

I just hate to have to take things to be altered. I know that’s silly of me. I tried on some of the old styles that I loved and was disappointed to see that the ankle length is now too long for me. Before, I could just pick up a pr and they fit perfectly. Oh well…my search for the perfect pr is still elusive!
