a little color.

Skirt: by me.  Striped shirt: French Connection via Marshalls.  Sweater: Old Navy.  Shoes: Cents of Style.  Bracelet: Thrifted.  Necklace: Ross.

Sometimes when it’s super gray and dreary outside I like to wear as much color as I possibly can just to counteract the weather.  See, people who are from Seattle can wear more than just black and gray.
Do you like how I say I’m “from Seattle” now.
I’ve unofficially been adopted by the Pacific Northwest.
Speaking of color, is anyone else as happy as me that mint is like “the color” this season.
I lovey love it so much.
Anyways, back to the weather.
The littles really wanted to go to the park yesterday, and I really wanted to take them.
But it was raining.
We kept waiting all day for a break in the clouds, just an hour of sunshine, but it never came.  Carter was so disappointed.  We even loaded up the car and drove down to the local beach park when it looked like the weather might start to clear up, and then it poured all the way there.  Carter insisted that he didn’t mind playing in the rain, but after 5 minutes out of the car, playing on the dock, he got cold, so we decided to give up on the weather and go to Ivar’s for some hot clam chowder instead.
Clam chowder in a bread bowl is almost as good as a wet slide and soggy swings.
Maybe better.

Love all of your pencil skirts. So envious that you can make yours yourself. I end up spending a fortune buying them from Banana Republic and J Crew. If only I would have paid attention when my mom wanted to teach me how to sew :)
