scenes from new york.

I won’t pretend that my second trip to the big city suddenly turned me into an expert in all things New York.  I think I could spend a lifetime getting to know that city.  However, I will say that traveling to the Big Apple for a second time only made me love it more.  And there’s something to be said for traveling somewhere alone.  There’s a quietness to it that makes you notice things you didn’t see before.  And while I missed my partner in crime, I’m glad I got to experience it like that.  Today, I’m thinking about what happened there 11 years ago, and all those memories have a new meaning.  Because now it’s not all associated with some distant city on the other side of the country.  It’s New York.  The city I walked quietly and then loved.

  8. Thank you for sharing your photos and thoughts. I’ve been living in NYC for the past six years and sometimes I just forget about that first love I felt when I moved here. Having a busy schedule does that, I guess. Your post reminded me of how lucky I am, I’ll make time to enjoy the city and the lovely autumn season. There are so many treasures in each corner that the best way to discover (in my case, re-discover) the city is carrying your camera while walking alone through the non busy streets.
