We took the littles to Freestone Park last night, watched the ducks on the lake and played kickball. Well, they played. I sat on the grass looking large and tried not to go into labor.
(still 4 more days till my mom gets here)
I felt much better yesterday. Much, much better. Which made me remember a few things about myself that being 9 months pregnant had somehow made me forget.
1. Fresh air is kind of important. I’ve been hiding in my house for the last month as Arizona has stayed obstinately hot, and honestly, in the state I’m in, heat kind of scares me. But yesterday evening was cool and really getting outside for the first time in awhile was heavenly. I had almost forgotten how much I need fresh air. Not air circulated through two ac units sitting on the side of my house.
2. Lounging around in sweats does NOTHING for me. I feel gross and get depressed. I feel infinitely better when I get dressed, fix my hair, and put on make-up. Now that I’m huge enough that only .05% of my wardrobe still fits, it’s been rather tricky, but yesterday I made myself try a little and I felt so much better.
3. The Newsies soundtrack is a really good idea when you’re not feeling great. There’s almost nothing that playing “Seize the Day” on repeat a million times can’t fix. When he came home and I was blasting that song, I think Mr’s exact words were “Newsies, seriously?”
And then I realized, men will never understand that movie.
Okay, Newsies is one of my favorite movies/musicals ever! I may or may not know all the words to all the songs. ;)
You are so beautiful pregnant! And your style looks effortless. Good luck in your final days of being preggo!
Okay, I laughed at the Batman comment. So true! haha And then I turned the song on and sang my heart out. You’re right, how can you not love it?!
p.s. You look darling, good luck!
you look amazing … You are such a radiant pregnant momma!!

Aww, it seems like you and your family had a great time getting some fresh air! Being out in the sun always makes me feel better and I understand what you mean when you say you feel gross wearing sweats all day haha! I feel like I’m getting lazy with myself and of course, getting ready always makes things better :)

You do look really great and I know how you feel about sweats. I have to get ready in the morning or I feel blah for the rest of the day. Found out one of my friends is pregnant and I referred her to your blog :) you have the best maternity style!

I am having a fabulous giveaway right here.
You are adorbs! I’ve seen and loved your skirsts before but never realized you had a blog. Love it!
So so agree with you on Newsies. Jake, actually, really really loves that movie. He listens to the soundtrack all the time. (Don’t tell Craig!) I hope your beautiful baby girl waits until your mom arrives. I’m so excited for youa guys! Also, quite sad I won’t be able to snuggle and cuddle her though. Hang in there! Love ya loads.
Love Newsies. Love Freestone. LOVE this time of year in AZ!
I LOOOOOOOOOOVE Newsies! One of my all time favorites, EVER! And you’d better believe when I watched it as a kid I had a crush on every boy in it.
Your Tuesday sounds like my Wednesday. I’m due in two weeks and seriously, yesterday was bad. And I had the same realization today – staying in sweats and hubbie’s t-shirts all day with no make up on and hair in a ponytail is just no good for me. By last night I was an emotional and hormonal mess. Today I tried to at least look cute and it’s been much better.
Love Newsies! Such a good movie! And I hear you about getting ready for the day and getting out into the sunshine. Everyone needs a little sunshine!
Have never seen Newsies but I totally understand how listening to a soundtrack can make you feel better. Good luck with your few days left. You loo amazing.

Amen to #3. That movie is where my Christian Bale obsession began :)
You look wonderful :-) here’s hoping I manage to look half as classy when I’m 9 months next Spring!
OH man. Now I need to go find my copy of Newsies. Hubby hasn’t seen it! Maybe I can torture him. :)

You look adorable. I too get stuck in the house. And agree getting dressed makes me feel so much better. (Even if I’m staying home.)
Couldn’t agree more!!! Thank goodness for motivating music:) I will always love the Newsies and men will never understand it!
yes, fresh air is a must in pregnancy, i think. it feels so good to breathe in that air especially when baby’s already making regular breathing a little more difficult than usual. x

Hey, Cori!
I’m new to your blog and first want to congratulate you on being a mama four times over! I see you’re nearing the end of this pregnancy; hang in there mama. :)
So, after seeing a bunch of your cute outfits on GCOGH’s website I decided to check out your blog. Uh, yeah, just noticed that not only do you live in AZ, but I’m guessing we actually live rather close. That’s totally Freestone, isn’t it?! My kids and I regularly stop by to visit the ducks! How cool! Small world for sure! Lovely photos, by the way!
Well, I’ll say some prayers for a quick, safe delivery and a healthy baby and mama! Take care, doll!
p.s.- Love Newsies!
