Full-on swelling of the ankles, feet, hands and face has arrived, and doesn’t appear to be going anywhere. My lips are unnaturally puffy. I’m not sleeping well, and to top it off, my allergies are going bananas right now.
In other words, when I emerge from the bed each morning, my face looks like it doubles as a punching bag.
A few hours from the mattress doesn’t seem to have any effect on the problem, so it seems the nastiness is here to stay until this little decides she’s ready to come out.
The last time I had a baby, my other two were babies themselves. They were almost too young to be aware that I was pregnant, let alone swollen.
Well, not any more.
And you know what they say about the mouth of babes.
I’ve been bracing myself for the inevitable “Mom looks terrible” comment for the past few weeks.
But.
Yesterday in church, Hannah spent the entire time sitting next to me, playing with the curls in my hair and telling me she loved me.
Ethan doesn’t walk past me without first wrapping his little arms around my belly and kissing the baby.
And the other day after I accidentally knocked into Carter with my large bump, then apologized for hitting him with my huge stomach, he patted it softly and said, “It’s not that big mom. Don’t worry about it.”
It’s nice to know when things get ugly I’ve got 3 littles who love me enough not to see it.
I’m pretty sure I don’t deserve to be their mom, but I thank God He let me anyway.
Hang in there sissy… You’re so close. And I just love those sweet kids of yours. You are such a blessed Mommy. They are dreamboats and I miss them so much!!!
I’m usually a quiet lurker of your blog, I really enjoy your writing and inspiration. You look great pretty and stylish and I wish you every blessing in the days/weeks ahead, best wishes xx
Oh, you ALWAYS look beautiful, Cori! Seriously. You’ve almost made it to the end, though! You can do it! Good luck!
(By the way–I’M TOTALLY not trying to bug you, but you haven’t emailed me have you? I don’t think so, I just wanted to double check and make sure I didn’t accidentally delete something :)
OH! And I got the clutch the other day in the mail!! Thank you so much! It is seriously adorable!
You look awesome! You’re beautiful. I am short too, 5 foot, and I swell like crazy while pregnant, too. I even get numbness in my arms for the last bit. Not fun. Hang in there, you’re almost done!!
are you kidding? You look so pretty! Every time you post a photo of you, I basically die over how gorgeous you look! Pregnancy seriously should not look so beautiful! Hang in there for the last little bit! :)
That is SO cute! Kids are always honest (my niece bluntly told me my teeth are crooked), so you know you’re not looking that bad. I think you look stunning, as always. :)
Every time I read your blog I think you can’t get any cuter and then you go and do it! You couldn’t have a bad day if you tried. Those little ones are so adorable! Can’t wait to see pictures of the “little lady” after she arrives.
Delurking to tell you that you look gorgeous! I hope this last bit flies by for you (but not so fast that you don’t treasure your wonderful children, and remember their beautiful acts of tenderness!) I wish you realized just how graceful you look, at a time when a woman generally looks her most ungainly. Hang in there!
I love your pregnant look! You are beautiful and that baby adds so much glow to your personality, it’s insane… I am so happy you have such wonderful, sensitive kids and trust me, you look AMAZING for being 9 months pregnant!
you look gorgeous! and you have the sweetest, cutest kids i’ve ever seen… but seriously, we have to give the credit to their mama for raising such amazing kids. hang in there, that sweet baby girl is going to be so worth the uncomfortable stages :)
ohmygoodness what sweet little munchkins!! and for what it’s worth, there are a lot of celebrities that pay for that puffy look. (But you don’t look puffy AT ALL!)
That is so sweet of your kids! I’m a few weeks behind you in my own third pregnancy, and I look forward to your post every day to find a way to help me feel not-so-frumpy in these difficult last months. I think you always look gorgeous. Good luck!
I just read your kid’s comments to my husband because he asked me what I was, “awwwing” about. They are so sweet. This post made me smile. And I know this is probably the last thing you want to hear, but I think you still look beautiful! The end is soooo close!
You look absolutely incredible, and I am sure like every woman imagines herself looking when pregnant. Even with the not-so-pretty stuff going on, your photos are lovely, and you look so radient and just gorgeous! In my two pregnancies it was a challenge to feel attractive at all, and I just really embraced the idea that physical beauty is not everything, got over feeling ugly, and went on with my life. There were enough physical discomforts anyway, that the physical side kind of fell by the wayside. Your children are so sweet, too!
What precious little ones you have. :) By the way, my outfit today was inspired by one you posted last year. :) I do so enjoy your style and your pregnancy style has continued to be inspirational. You are a lovely lady and your children’s attitudes are clearly a reflection of your parenting. God bless, sweetie.
awww this is so sweet, what darling kiddies! You know what I can’t see it either, you look just as fabulous as always. Loving the photo’s and Hannah’s pumpkin dress, you guys sure make for a cute family :)
My allergies are going bonkers too, woke up with my eyes swollen shut this morning- I think its the unusually warm fall. But you still look lovely… inner beauty never fails to shine through.
What a beautiful blog post. I know that it’s hard, but just think, it’s almost over. You look absolutely stunning. And your bump is gorgeous. Just think of that sweet little angel growing inside of you. She will be out saying hi to you soon enough. My son is 3.5 yrs old and I’ve been dealing with a health issue for the past month. I was diagnosed with pericarditis and essentially have chest pain 100 % of the time. Anyways my son has been amazing. He kisses my chest every day and asks me how I’m doing. He has been the best medicine for me and has taken the best care of me. We are truly blessed to have our children. Good luck,
Oh, you’re just beautiful! And, your kids are so sweet. I’m so excited for you and can’t wait to see your newest sweet little one! Hang in there! You’re days away!!! Love ya!
If I look half as gorgeous as you do when I’m pregnant, I’ll take it. You look simply beautiful. I hope the little one arrives soon, but most importantly- safely. Sending prayers your way!!!

You are obviously raising those boys right… teaching them to be kind and gentle souls. Good job mom. ;)

Well, if you’re swelling, you sure are hiding it pretty good :) Lovely, as always.
As far as I know, swelling is connected to the salt consumption. Too much salt during pregnancy leads to swelling.
Awwww, you look great in these photos! Best of luck to you as you finish your pregnancy =)
gosh that is sweet. and congratulations on your little number four. she’s beautiful.
