ten things.

It’s so hard to stay cheerful when you’ve been sick in bed er–couch all week.
Here are ten things that make me happy:
1. Hot Chocolate: aka my Mormon coffee. I drink it religiously. ;-)
2. A great book, especially this one, or this one.
3. The color cobalt. To wear, especially.
4. My baby Ava.  Little squishy ball of joy.  And her perfect little laugh.  Best. Sound.  Eva.
5. Wearing Gingham.  Sure, I feel like a picnic table, but hey picnics are fun.
6. Going to Starbucks or In’N’Out.  The people that work there are always so cheerful.  I don’t know how those companies manage to pull it off, but bravo.
7. Red Lipstick.  I haven’t been wearing it as frequently lately because it admittedly ends up all over Ava’s cheeks when I do, but I still love to wear red lipstick.  It makes me feel fierce.
8. When the littles get home from school.  All hot and sweaty from riding their bikes, they smell like a playground and have so much(!) to tell me about their day.  I love how expressive they are, and how happy they are to be home.
9. Our chore chart.  I know it sounds ridiculous, but a clean house equals a happy Cori.
10. Mr. cancelled the rest of his business trip and flew home early last night.  Completely unexpected.  That made me very happy indeed.
What makes you happy?
Ready, set, go!

  5. Happy = Jesus, Family, Friends, Puppies, Coffee, Clothes. I think it goes in that order…although admittedly, coffee may be before puppies?! hahahahaha!!

i love love love your red lipstick! its perfect, bold but a great shade of crimson. I bought one recently but it was too bright for my liking. What brand & color are you wearing? Good prayer time, fresh air, playtime, talking to friends, and any sort of specialty drink that feels like a treat :)

I agree with the baby belly laugh. My son would get my daughter belly laughing at 4 months old so hard I had to record it. So cute!

I love both those books too! And how happy that Mr. surprised you with an early return!! Nothing better than that. I’ve been sick this week too, so being healthy makes me happy. As well as my sweet 6-month old, good friends, a husband who loves me, and my down comforter. :)

This outfit is SO cute! I would never think of layering two gingham shirts. Brilliant!

Also, would you mind telling me what lipstick you use? My skintone is similar to yours, and I can’t ever find a red lipstick that doesn’t make me look like Cruella DeVille. Yours is fabulous. Thank you!

    Love, Lindsay

Totally agree with your book selections!
Pride and Prejudice is my all time fav, and I just died for Potato Peel Pie Society. I was so sad when it ended because I loved the characters so much.

I absolutely adore this look – red, white and blue is always an amazing combination. You’ve styled this so well – love this idea of layering with two shirts! Thanks so much for sharing :)
