Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change, He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heav’nly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.
-
Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake
To guide the future, as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
His voice Who ruled them while He dwelt below.
-
Be still, my soul: the hour is hast’ning on
When we shall be forever with the Lord.
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.
Love this. Thanks for sharing!
One of my favorite hymns!! Thank you sooo much for sharing it today and bringing it to mind!! :)
we sang this in church yesterday :) one of my favorites.
Thank you for this!
I love me some Archie! And more seriously, thank you for sharing this. I’ve been watching the horrific footage of the Boston Marathon bombings and this song brought some peace to my heart and mind.
As a performer with a ballet company I get the unique opportunity of dancing a solo to this hymn. God works so much through our pain, but I admit there are times when I really just don’t want to dance it. On Friday I will go out again with this message. Thanks for reminding me of its value.
I think you posted this on Monday before the bombing event in Boston. It is almost foreshadowing because it is such a fitting song for our feelings after this horrible incident. Continue to look forward to your posts … Thank you for sharing your life and your thoughts. :)
This is beautiful.
Great Blog !!

So, thank you for posting thid and thank you for listening to the Spirit.
