One of my favorite guilty pleasure past times is antique shopping. What can I say? I just really like old junk that used to belong to someone else. No, but seriously. I think the pieces in my my home I love the most are the ones I’ve found among the dust in old antique shops. My ancient typewriter (that still works!), my vintage boat oars with the paint delightfully chipping off, the old fan (that we don’t plug in because seriously those metal blades could cut off a finger), my old steamer trunk, a vintage suitcase and books, dozens of old books. I try to limit myself to only really awesome unique pieces; I don’t want my house to end up looking like an episode of hoarders, cause lets be real, there is such a thing as too many antiques. Now, if I could just find a vintage kitchen scale, my life would be complete.
That is mine too!! I love vintage furniture and jewelry. I sometimes wonder what the story behind it is..do you? My favorite are paintings, antique paintings.
I Love that skirt and honestly thought that F21 could not make appropriate length skirts. My guilty pleasure is ice cream. Lol but seriously I love finding antiques that are one of a kind and sticking them all over the house.
My family is in the business so I grew up around antiques and have always loved it! I can’t figure out why people buy something new when you can get a piece that is of better quality and has so much history!!! And your antiquing outfit is just perfect!
That’s another thing I have in common with you! I love antiques and wondering about the previous owners. Coincidentally, I live in an English cottage – it was built in 1790 and has a few stone walls in the older half – oh how I wish those walls could talk! I try to imagine what it was like living in this house say, in 1790, 1890, 1920 etc. I also love finding vintage handwritten recipes (although haven’t had a great deal of luck there sadly). But the best news I wanted to share with you is that I only recently thrifted these exact vintage scales for a mere £10! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Salter-No-56-Black-Weighing-Scale-Vintage-Kitchen-Measure-inc-5-Weights-Antique-/400450379729 It was love at first sight! Can you blame me?
I love your pictures. I need someone to follow me around with a camera, hehe :) I’ve never been antiquing, but yard saling and flea markets are always fun!
Yeah, my guilty pleasure is chocolate. I already have had half a bar today. Insane life I lead, I know. Cute shirt by the way!

I love to go antiquing! Probably 95% of my furniture is hand-me-down or antique.
My own guilty pleasure is probably anything salted caramel. Which is far more calories than antiquing :)
I gotta say I was shocked to find out that amazing skirt was from forever 21! Absolutely love it!
You have a great blog. I LOVE all your skirts. They are so classic and sophisticated. I am wearing the Red Awning Skirt in my post today :)
