So spring is awesome, but also kind of weird.  For instance.  Monday we had beautiful heavenly weather most of the day, it rained in the evening and then Tuesday morning we woke to snow.  Snow.  That snow decided to hang around for most of the day until about 3:30 when it decided to melt and become beautiful spring-like weather once again, making my leather jacket, booties and beanie feel a bit like over-kill.

Spring weather is like a yo-yo.

Speaking of which, I am incapable of regulating my body temperature right now.  Meaning, at any given time and for no apparent reason, I could suddenly be freezing.  Like right now as I am typing this, I’m so cold.  Except nothing really changed in the room around me, and no one else seems to be the least bit cold.  This happens to me for a good year or two after I have a baby.  Please tell me I am not the only one.

And with that, I’m off.  I think I’ll go wrap myself in a blanket, sit by the fire, and drink some cocoa.  If you can think of anything else to help me warm-up, I would gladly welcome any suggestions.

Happy Hump-day!

  3. Although I’ve never had a baby, this happens to me a lot. I will get cold and nothing I do will make me warm again.

You are certainly not alone!!!! Well it may not be a long term fix, my naturopath suggested having cooler showers as opposed to the scalding ones I used to take. It’s helped me a bit!

I have been coveting that same purse for some time now! I am with you on the body temp thing. I love a good long hot bath. Preferably with a good book. And a tall glass of water.

I’m the same! Have a 5 month old now, and the buttons on the thermostat are wearing thin from me changing it every hour. It’s great.

I have a hard time regulating my temperature due to chronic body pain and one glorius day my sister made me a rice heating pad. She just made a fabrig bag amd filled it with rice, to make sure the rice was evened out throuout the baggie she stiched random lines every couple of inches. I LOVE it! Just stick it in the microwave for a couple of minutes and it keeps me work for an hour or so plus the smell of warm rice is relaxing. I have 3 now :) so you should make yourself one being w sewing genius and all ;)

Have you had your thyroid checked? Feeling cold is a classic symptom of hypothyroidism, and apparently postpartum thyroid issues are a thing: http://www.thyroid.org/postpartum-thyroiditis/
