Welp, the holidays are over. If this blog had sound effects, something like whomp, whomp would follow. The Monday after Christmas break is such a bummer, isn’t it? I got a little emotional sending the kids off to the bus stop this morning, and the house feels too quite now. But that’s probably just because Ava is still sleeping…
Last night we drove home from visiting family for the new year, over Snoqualmie pass. It was so snowy, people were sliding off the road all over the place. Craig’s an excellent snow driver, so I sat in the passenger seat gripping the armrest and watching him navigate his way through the slush. A big high five to him when we arrived safely in our own driveway once again and can I just say how nice it is to have a guy around, especially one who can handle just about anything that’s thrown at him.
So we’re back home now and we’ve traded snow for rain (hashtag:seattle) and I’m reminded once again how awesome these Hunter boots are. They were great for the snow this week (with thick, thick socks of course) and they’re even better in the rain. We don’t have a huge need for winter boots in Seattle, because snowfall is pretty infrequent this time of year, and a good pair of rain boots is a great alternative to heavy winter boots. I’ve added a new navy pair to my closet and I’m so excited to remix them for the rest of the rainy season…
