Skirt: made by me.(similar here and here.) Turtleneck: Target. (also love this one.) Jacket: Old Navy. (old. similar here.) Gloves: old (similar.) Necklace: similar here. Boots: Hunter Kids. (adults here.)

Would you like to know something only mildly interesting about me?  No?  Well, I’ll tell you anyway.  I’m nice like that. ;-)

I grew up in California and I never saw snow falling until I was 19 and away at college.  I had been to the snow, you know for sledding trips and to go snowboarding, but I had never seen it while it was actually in the process of falling.  I love the snow.  I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but when I get around snow, or it starts falling… it seriously does something to me that I can’t explain, but somehow I get completely giddy and ridiculous and it’s like I’m five again.  It’s just so white and fluffy!   A few years ago we took the kids to Leavenworth during the holidays and right as we walked out of the restaurant at the end of dinner it started snowing.  And there were lights on the village Christmas tree and people sledding at a park nearby and it was just so Norman Rockwell that I legit started to cry, right there on the spot.

What can I say, frozen precipitation makes me emotional.

Annnd, apparently it still does.

Guys, I’ve become obsessed with making myself these flannel skirts.  They are soooo perfect for this cold weather, when all you want to do it be bundled up, but you still want to, you know, have some kind of style.  I love pairing them with my rain boots, and since my new pair of navy ones just arrived in the mail yesterday (eeek), I’m thinking I need to whip myself up another one to wear with those…

Hope you’re all having a lovely week!

I’ve put a few good alternatives to this skirt below.  I’m also considering adding a few of these to the shop, very limited.  What say you?

I would totally buy a skirt like that! I have been looking everywhere for one that isn’t too short but not a million dollars. I hope that you decide to put some in the shop as I would totally buy one. You look darling, as always.

Please put these skirts in your shop – it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for and unable to find! Especially for those of us with nil sewing skills hehe!

I would love one of those skirts! I used to live up north and wore flannel shirts all the time in the winter months, but now I live in south Florida. It’ll probably be a bit warm for the year-round 80+ degree weather. Lol.

I used to feel like that when we lived in Arizona. I was always jealous of everyone’s winter weather clothes. We were wearing shorts in December. Haha.
