I’ve been a big fan of the whole female in a tie, borrowed from the boys look since I saw Nottinghill my Sophomore year of high school. When Julia Roberts does menswear, you pay attention. I didn’t however, have the guts to wear one myself until I was married and had a boy to borrow from. I was immediately addicted. Seriously, have you ever tried wearing a tie. I can’t explain why, but it always makes me feel fabulous, and daring and maybe a little bad-a.
The only problem with borrowing from the boys, is that boys clothes are bigger, so I ran into a problem of proportions. The ties were always a little too wide, and much too long. I’d end up tucking the tail awkwardly into my shirt and the look was never as clean as I’d like it to be. So I did what I seem to always do when I want something that I can’t find anywhere. I designed one myself.
