Rare known fact about me: I lovey love love dishes. And when I say I love dishes, I mean I love beautiful, well made, good dishes. You know, those heirloom pieces… the ones you pass along to your first born daughter. The ones your second born daughter covets.
(I’m the second-born daughter, btw.)
I do not currently have a good set of dishes.
(still the second born daughter apparently)
I currently have Ikea dishes and I like them just fine, (I promise I do) they are cute, simple and most importantly, cheap…
Right now, with 4 little kids at home, (especially ones learning to empty the dishwasher) I end up with lots of chipped dishes, and having a nice set of dinnerware just isn’t practical. In this season, I’m all about finding inexpensive solutions to everyday household needs. (thank you, Ikea.)
But someday, when my ducklings are a little older and not so chip prone, I’m planning to have something along the lines of these beauties grace my kitchen cupboards…

When I was getting married, i dreamed about these dishes by going to Macy’s and just looking at them from afar. I would love to own of fancy dinner wear and have pretty dinner parties… That’s the life of my dreams haha!

I LOVE my dishes. They are the traditional Apilco from Williams Sonoma. We got these for our wedding (and our fine china-Wedgewood Sterling) and it has stood up Amazingly!! I have three boys who set the table, etc (9, 5, 3) and in all these years only one bowl has been broken! So what I’m saying is that quality is possible when your kids are little. You have beautiful plates and probably is cheaper in the long run. Just my perspective!
Life’s short. Buy the dishes.
