Once upon a time, (when I was a freshman in college) I went to a halloween party.  Said Halloween party started just a short half hour after my last class of the afternoon, and I was living on a college student’s budget and so, hard pressed for a costume, I borrowed a pair of leopard “clubbing” (disgusting, I know) pants from a friend, threw on a pair of leopard ears (from the grocery store) and drew some whiskers on my cheeks with my eye liner.  Eh, voila!  My costume.  Sexy Leopard. (except minus the sexy because at the time I looked like I was maybe 12.)  It was super creative as you can imagine.

If you had told me then that I would be walking around in my 30’s, as a mother of four, in a pair of leopard pants (and not as a joke) I would have laughed at you.

That’s probably what I love most about being in my 30’s.  I’m pretty comfortable wearing just about anything that I see and like, and I have a lot more guts than I used to have.  Getting dressed in my 30’s is a lot more fun.   I wish I had known this 3 years ago, I would have dreaded the new decade a heck of a lot less.  For. Reals.

BTW, I was hesitant about ordering these jeans because they are on final sale, and they are a little out there.  Plus I’d never ordered pants from Kate Spade before and I wasn’t sure about sizing, fit, quality, etc.  Let me just say, (and this is coming from someone with really, really not perfect legs) holy cow, these pants are amazing.  They are so comfortable, the fit is amazing, and the quality–out of this world.  And seriously, I don’t know what material they made these out of, but they are magic (you know, like those sisterhood-of-the-traveling-pants, pants).  They have such great stretch, while also having the perfect amount of structure.  Slow clap, Kate Spade.  SLOW. CLAP.

So if you’ve been sitting on the fence about picking up a pair of leopard pants, consider this your green light. ;-) ;-)
