We have had the warmest, most heavenly June ever this year, but usually the Pacific Northwest is rather dismal during this month of the year. Rainy, grey, a little chilly, we call it June-uary. The problem with chilly weather this time of year is that, well, it’s summer and it should feel like summer, one should be able to dress for summer. I mean, who wants to pull from their fall/winter wardrobe when they’re dressing in June? Not me. One of the ways I’ve learned to dress for a gloomy June is to wear pieces that are warm enough for the chill, but still feel like summer. Like a nice pair of shorts with a sweater. This nautical striped sweater is cozy without being heavy, and perfectly soft and drapey. It’ll be great through the season, especially in the evenings when it gets chilly, or for a day by the water. And I don’t usually love shorts on me, (at all) but I actually really love this pair and feel like they are very flattering, even on someone with legs as short as mine…
So how do you beat the June Gloom?
I just got back from vacation in California and I’d never heard of “June Gloom” until I started asking people why it was so cloudy and cold! Still had a fun trip though. Should have packed more sweaters!

Love the sweater! Any advice on whether it shrinks in the washer / dryer?
Hi Lily! I just machine wash cold, gentle cycle and lay flat to dry. ;-)
Thank you! Love the whole ensemble!
