how to: get early access to the Nordstrom Anniversay sale.

So the biggest event of the year at everyone’s favorite retailer is coming up soon, and we all know that the best way to maximize your shopping experience is to get in on the action early.  These are no clearance items.  These are new arrivals, new fall styles with limited numbers, and all marked way down for a limited time.   One of the simplest ways to have success and not miss out on something spectacular during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is to gain early access to the sale.  And there’s one simple way to do it.

Sign up for a Nordstrom card.

 I know what you’re thinking…

“Store cards are a big no, no!”

But with Nordstrom there are three great options available.  I promise there’s an option that works for you.  There’s either the traditional Nordstrom Store card, The Nordstrom Signature Visa card, or a Nordstrom Debit card.

If you like to avoid credit card spending, the debit card is a great option because it is basically just a debit card.  It pulls directly from your bank account and you still get the benefits of the Nordstrom retail card (points!, early access, etc). The Nordstrom signature Visa card is basically a normal credit card except you get 2 points for every dollar spent in store, and 1 point for every dollar spent anywhere else.  So yes, you can use it to buy groceries and gas and still earn points.  The traditional store card is just that, good for Nordstrom only, and you get 2 points for every purchase.  Cardholders also earn double points during the early access dates, July 9-16 (another benefit.)

Other great ways to prepare for the sale:

nordstrom anni sale get prepped

-Browse the Anniversary Sale website and take note of all the details.

-Check out the pre-fall trends before hand and take note of your favorites.

-Make a list of what you’d like to add to your closet for the sale and prioritize.  Decide what you’re willing to spend on each piece.  I like to go through my closet and decide what I feel I’m missing, that way I can be more strategic when shopping.

-Check out Nordstrom’s Anniversary sale catalogue for a sneak peek at what they have in store and an idea of the markdowns.

-Come back here on July 9th for a list of the best early access pieces from the sale!  I’ll also be rounding up the best in Men’s, kids, home and some more specific areas, like shoes and fitness throughout the sale.  Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like me to hunt down and I’ll do my utmost.

-Mark your calendar.  Prices go up on August 3rd.

Now go forth and get ready!
