Dress: H&M (I sized up for length and then altered it down to fit. Almost identical here. Also similar herehere and here.)  Belt: Target. Shoes: Nordstrom. Bag: Kate Spade. Sunglasses: Kate Spade. (on sale right now.)

We’ve been trying to make our Sundays more meaningful lately.  We always go to church, but when you live far from family and you don’t shop, or go out to eat, or anything like that on the sabbath, Sunday can feel a little long. (Even with 3 hours of church)  We kind of found ourselves just napping through the day and not doing anything deliberate as a family.  So we’ve been trying to be more deliberate with the kids.  Do quiet things together, read books, play board games, nap sparingly (hey, it’s still Sunday) and maybe watch a good movie together in the evenings.  On Sunday we introduced the kids to Rudy.  Holy cow, I hadn’t seen that movie in several years and I basically wept through the whole thing.  If there’s one thing you should know about me it’s that I’m a movie cryer.  I seriously can’t understand why Sam-wise Gamgee is not a bigger star, he’s so so good in Rudy.  Come to think of it, he was good in the goonies too, and LOTR.  Anyways, Rudy.  Man, it’s such a good movie.  The kids were getting so into it, chanting Rudy and the end and Ava’s been walking around saying “Wudy, Wudy” for the last few days.  Not to toot her little toddler horn, but it’s pretty darn cute.

So this dress you guys.  You know I can never say no to stripes.  It was a pain to get it to work, but I still think it was worth sizing up a billion sizes, then still letting out the hem to get the length and then altering it back down to fit.  The actual dress is super duper short.  Like how does someone wear this and still sit down short.  Even on me, the shrimp.  But I found a bunch of really similar dresses, (one of them is almost identical) and linked them below.  Or, if you are so inclined, size up,  let the hem down and just bring in the sides…

Also, juuuust a friendly little reminder, that general access to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale starts Friday.  That’s two days from now, so mark your calendars… ;-)  Is it bad to say I’ve totally been wearing the items I scored even though they were technically meant to be part of my fall wardrobe line-up… haha.  If you’ve got a Nordstrom card and you haven’t shopped early access, well, what’s wrong with you?  Just kidding.  But really, you should head over there now.  There are some really wicked cool pieces.  The boots alone are worth writing home about. Also, if you like my leopard pumps, you should know there are a few different pumps of the same print as part of the Anniversary sale
