How was your weekend? I survived a swim party with ten tween girls and it was pretty much a smashing success, Hannah’s whole birthday was actually, so I’m feeling pretty good about myself right now. And also, like I need a nap.
I’ve loved micro-pleat skirts pretty much my entire life, but I’ve never found one that didn’t do something weird and puckery on my hips, until this one. The dropped yoke waist really smoothes this out and helps it hang nicely around my curves. Plus this skirt is so swooshy…I love swooshy skirts! When I walk in this one, or the wind picks up a little I feel so glamorous. I like it when my clothes make me feel glamorous, because most of motherhood, let’s face it, just isn’t. Anyway, I picked this skirt up during the anniversary sale and when I was getting ready to wear it, I just wanted to keep it simple with this drapey black top. I decided it’s acceptable to wear all black and not look like you’re going to a funeral as long as there are polka dots involved. And also, red nail polish.
Have you bought yourself a pair of strappy heels yet this summer? I just added this silhouette to my closet and I don’t know what in the world took me so long. I’m obsessed. There’s a great pair of these at Nordstrom right now, as part of their anniversary sale. (they come in red and cobalt. swoon.) Enzo Angiolini is one of my favorite shoe brands, I have a few pairs of their pumps and they’ve held up beautifully.
