I’ve always leaned a little more towards the preppy side of things, so I’d probably be wearing plaid this time of year whether or not it was a trend.  I’ve always gravitated towards plaid, I had a really darling red tartan dress as a kid, and man was I proud of that thing.  It doesn’t hurt that plaid has been a big trend for the last several Autumn/winter seasons, but this year, it’s exploded.  It’s everywhere.  I mean, have you been to Target lately?

What I love most about this trend being all the rage, is that you’re getting a whole bunch of unique options with plaid prints.  It’s not just scarves and skirt, or shirts any more.  You’ve got plaid pumps, pillows, rain boots, phone covers… plaid lamps and even a felt plaid stag head.  (getting that for my wall asap.)
