easy fall layers.

I’ve been looking all season for a burgundy plaid scarf.  Since a lot of my fall wardrobe is that shade, I wanted to add this accessory to the bunch, but I couldn’t find one anywhere.  Then low-and-behold I found this one online at Nordstrom but it was back-ordered until December!  (wah!)  Then, the other day I was online looking for something else, and this popped up, back in stock!  Woot, woot!

Well, I ordered it right then and there, because I wasn’t about to let it sell out on me again (nothing haunts you like the thing you didn’t buy) and opted to pick it up in-store.  Did you know that most stores have that option?  It’s awesome.  I mean, I like ordering things and having them delivered right to my door, but if I want it a little quicker, it’s nice to know that it’s already been bought and set aside, instead of driving all the way over to the store just to find out it was already sold… (that’s happened to me more than once.)

Do you know what you’re going to be for halloween yet?  Me either.  I also have no idea what any of my 4 kids are going to be and there’s a trunk or treat (like trick or treating except with cars in a parking lot) at our church tomorrow, so I’m thinking today is going to be a little interesting…

I love October so much, but man.  IT IS SUCH A BUSY MONTH.  Three of my four kids have birthdays, then there’s Halloween (and the costumes that go with it) plus all the games, and events, and then (because I’m stubborn and I don’t like missing out on stuff) all the favorite fall activities (apple picking, pumpkin patches, etc.)  Every Sunday night my husband and I sit down to plan out the week, and each week of this month has been so swamped, it’s just flying by…

But the truth is, this time of year is pretty magical, with all the bustling around, and the changing leaves, the good things to eat and the yummy autumn smells…  No wonder it’s my favorite.
