I feel like this has been the year of the shoe. There are so many great shoe trends this summer, I thought it would be fun to look at three that transition seamlessly from into fall.

First: the lace up flat.
The lace up trend is such a great update on a trend I’ve loved for years. These have been everywhere this spring and summer and the style transitions perfectly into fall. Think skinny jeans and chunky sweaters, but you can wear them now as well with a pretty lace top, skirts and dresses or even just a casual t-shirt and jeans. I love how they kind of add a dress-down-dressed-up effect to any look. In other words, not as dressy as heels, more intentional than a casual shoe.

second: the peep-toe bootie.
My love for this trend runs deep. I picked these booties up in the spring, as kind of a test. “Okay I’ll give the trend a try, but I’m not saying I’ll like it.” Well, these became an instant favorite. They are so comfortable, and fun to wear, they go with everything and they work 3 out of 4 seasons of the year. i want to pick up this pair in the taupe color.

Similar top. jeans. bag.(on sale) wedges. sunglasses.
third: the wedge.
A neutral colored wedge is a great shoe to transition from fall into summer. I fell in love these Marc Fisher ones months ago in the brown, but I already had wedges in that color, so I couldn’t really justify them, but black! I didn’t have any wedges in that color, and I think I love them in this color even more. Every time I wear these I get tons of compliments. The ankle strap takes a little breaking in (fair warning) but other than that, they are super comfy and surprisingly very easy to walk in.

I pretty much stick to buying all my shoes at Nordstrom. Partly because they almost always carry my size (5.5) when no one else does, but also because they have by far the best selection, and I love the free shipping and easy returns if the fit is off. Also, I’ve got wide feet and I love that I can bring the shoes I’ve ordered into Nordstrom’s shoe department in store and have them stretched for a perfect fit, without having to worry about finding a cobbler.
