My kids went back to school this morning after a nice little 4 day weekend. The last few days have really felt like spring and we are definitely soaking it up. Lots of exploring and outings, trying to figure out where things are and get to know our new place. I pulled out my favorite skirt, because nothing says spring like pink micro pleats.
Someone told me years ago that because I’m so short I really shouldn’t ever wear midi length skirts, and that made me feel really hesitant about them for a long time. Most of the time I try to find pieces that flatter me and work with my unique proportions, but sometimes I just think you have to make exceptions. I love midi skirts, so to heck with the rules. And if this skirt makes me look short, I’ll be the shortest girl in the twirliest skirt. That’s a worthy tradeoff.
Usually I pair this skirt with high heels, but since I’m already breaking the rules I went casual and paired it with my favorite flats, a striped sweater and a simple denim jacket.
