Hey Guys! Did you have a fabulous weekend?! I know I’ve been a little MIA around here the last few days, but with all the craziness of the end of the school year for my kids and some new projects for business I’ve been working on, plus a bunch of house projects and I just had to slow down and take a minute last week if you know what I mean.
Which brings me to: I need your help. I would love to know what kind of stuff you’d like to see around here? Do you want more approachable fashion, more mom stuff, house stuff? Leave a comment and tell me what you want to see more of. Some of the suggestions I’ve been getting over on instagram and in my email are: fitness (workout, and eating), how I’m decorating our farmhouse, how I curl my hair, how I get everything done with 4 kids, mom outfits, etc. So let me know if any of those interest you, and what else you’d like to see on here.
Okay, now lets talk casual summer dresses. It finally got hot here in New England over the weekend and I couldn’t be happier about it. It also meant an immediate wardrobe mind shift. One of the most frequent questions I get asked during the summer months, is how I stay cool while also feeling put together. I’m Mormon, which means I always wear sleeves and my dresses and shorts need to be longer for religious reasons, which can make getting dressed in the summer months a real pain. Casual summer dress are totally my secret weapon. And the great thing is, they are awesome whether you are a mom taking your kids to the park, or work in an office. It’s all about how you wear them.
Take this amazing white shirtdress (which is on sale for $36 right now). I styled it with my favorite new platform oxfords and a denim jacket for an afternoon out and about, then dinner with my husband, but you could throw on some summer heels and it’s office ready, or slide into some flip-flops and throw your hair up in a pony and you’re ready for the park. I think it would also be so cute with wedges, or a pair of sneakers and a leather jacket. See? Endless possibilities, and it’s comfortable, cool and super flattering.

The things that I would like to see are: food prep/planning & meal ideas, always interested in fashion related (one thing I have been looking for lately is more ideas of what to wear over dresses since that’s what I wear the most of but I always FREEZE in air conditioned places!), also fitness and skincare/make-up.
How do you wear white without the bra showing ?
Decoration tips would be neat . But I love your fashion blogs . Maybe the splurge and save options for times when finances are more tight . Like summer with no school. Entertaining kiddos takes a chunk from one’s budget ! . I also like your new hair style . Looks pretty .
I definitely would love to see more approachable fashion and home stuff! I love your style so I know whatever you showcase in those categories will be a hit (for me haha!). I love that white dress! I’m not mormon but I do like that it is chic and makes it appropriate for any wear like work!

Would love to hear more details on your morning routine (how done up do you get regularly and how much time do you spend getting presentable each morning)? Also, what prompted the haircut and color? Looks great, btw!! What do you take into consideration for hair decisions? Face shape?? The current hair styles? Love seeing all of your outfit selections from dressy to casual to everyday mom outfits. Love that you keep it all on the affordable side for those of us who don’t want to or can’t spend $400 on one clothing item. Would also love to see more of your farmhouse remodeling. All of your posts are great. Just keep on doing what you’re doing!!!
I love reading your blog! I’m not Mormon, but am a mom of 3 so it’s nice to get trendy and chic outfit ideas that are on the conservative side. I would love to read more posts about “momming” your 4 kids. I have a 10, 7, and 5 year old and feel like every year there is a new challenge I need to figure out! Right now my kids are in the arguing stage (which is a new one for me). They argue about everything and I feel like I’m losing my mind sometimes.
I’ve been following your blog since your AZ days & always enjoy whatever topic you write about, but now that I’m a mom I’ve become more interested in how to stay stylish while still working full-time and yet comfy at home. I do love reading about how you seem to manage 4 kids, a new farm/house, and being a work boss! I know it’s not always rainbows & unicorns, but you give great advice/tips on doing the best you can for your family & lifestyle. So, thank you!!

I agree with the comments about what “normal” moms wear for everyday life! We can all find tons of blogs with high-end prices and fashion that belongs on a runway, buy your site gives me REAL ideas and makes me click!! I love the dressing room posts so we can see what the items look like for real life. I shop at the same stores so I find these posts very helpful (JCrew, Nordstrom, Loft). I am always searching for tops that are casual but not boring t-shirts and you had tons of tops recently!!
I live in a mild climate so outfit ideas during the winter that are not only wool and turtlenecks are helpful.

I’d love to see more “home stuff”! Its so fun to be able to decorate a house from the ground up, and I love watching that process.
